Obituary for Cossette Rivers Guy

Cossette Theresa Rivers Guy of Worthington, a former resident of Southwick, died
Friday, August 21, 2015.
Cossette was born in Albany, N.Y., on July 4, 1928, the youngest daughter of William
and Laura Rivers. She attended school in Albany and later moved to Holyoke where she finished her education.
She was a communicant of the Blessed Sacrament Church where she was a Eucharistic
Minister. She visited the nursing homes and the homebound. She was a communicant of Our
Lady of the Lake Church and recently the Holy Name Parish Church in Russell.
She was past President of the America Legion in Chicopee.
She was a waitress for many years in restaurants around the area.
She enjoyed life. She enjoyed people. Cossette would say everyday is a gift from
God. She enjoyed working in her garden, crocheting, crossword puzzles, and bird watching.
Her greatest joy was saying the rosary.
She is survived by her son, David M. Guy, Sr., and his wife, Judy, of Peru; her daughter, Cynthia, and her husband, Jimmy, of Georgia; six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her daughter-in-law, Sharon Guy of Worthington.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Roland, of 49 years, in 1994; her son, Roland late of Worthington; her brother, Willard, and her sisters, Ethel, Mabel, and Stella.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
At her request, all services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial
will be in Center Cemetery in Peru.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Worthington Ambulance
Service in care of DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main Street, Dalton, MA 012
