Obituary for Cornelia A. Hunt Tiffany

CORNELIA "CONNIE" HOUGHTALING HUNT TIFFANY, 79, of 176 Columbus Avenue, Pittsfield, passed away on March 8, 2010, at Hillcrest Commons
where she had been a resident since December.
Born on July 28, 1920, in Pittsfield, the daughter of the late Wallace Houghtaling
and Elizabeth Rawling Houghtaling Stoessel, she attended local schools.
She was pre-deceased by her first husband, Robert Hunt, whom she married in
1947. She married her second husband, William "Bill" Tiffany in 1952; he died in 1988.
Mrs. Tiffany was employed for over 25 years at Springside Nursing Home from
where she retired in 199l, and prior to that had been employed by Berkshire County
Association for Retarded Citizens for more than five years. She had also worked for
Wendy's Restaurant, Sampco, and Cumberland Farms.
She and her husband, Bill, owned and operated Lenox Taxi from 1967 to 1980.
Connie was a member of the Ralph J. Froio Senior Center. She enjoyed playing
cards, and watching golf and baseball. She loved to have her family around and enjoyed
spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed family picnics and get-togethers.
She also enjoyed socializing with her neighbors at BerkshireTown, traveling, taking bus
trips and parades.
Mrs. Tiffany is survived by her children, Sherry Hunt Schilling and her husband,
David, Wanda A. Valday and her husband, David, and Gloria B. Hunt, all of Pittsfield;
two sons, Brian D. Tiffany and his wife, Melissa, of Pittsfield, and John W. Tiffany and
his wife, Gail, of Shaftsbury, Vermont; a brother, Arthur "Puggy" Houghtaling and his
wife, of Pittsfield; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, of whom she was
very proud. She was pre-deceased by a sister, Gloria Houghtaling and three brothers,
Courtland Houghtaling, John Houghtaling, and Wallace Houghtaling, Jr., and a grandson,
Branson W. Tiffany.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service for CORNELIA "CONNIE" A. HUNT TIFFANY, will be
Saturday, March 13, at 2:00 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. Irene M. Jones
officiating. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of
Mrs. Tiffany may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires in care of the Funeral
Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
