Clarence Arnold Barrett, 84, of Lenox, MA, passed away December 24, 2020 at Lee Healthcare.
Born in West Stockbridge, MA on July 27, 1936, he was the son of the late Raymond and Gladys Burch Barrett.
Raised on the family farm, he thought he would be a farmer for life until he got bit by the driving bug. He graduated from Williams High School in Stockbridge. He was proud of his friendship with Norman Rockwell and appeared in two of his paintings. He drove for Continental Trailways and Bonanza logging millions of miles, earning safety awards along the way. Clarence enjoyed golf and retired to Florida for year-round sunshine where he could play often before moving back to the Berkshires to be close to family.
He is survived by his children, Suzanne Jester, of Pittsfield, Peter Barrett and his wife Mary of Westford, and Tammy Depolo and her husband Don of Mashpee; grandchildren Stephanie Jester Maschino, Melanie Jester Bugliari, Christopher and John Barrett, Dana and Brett Depolo; greatgrandchildren Leanne, Sammy, and Joey Maschino, Sophia, Norah and Benny Bugliari; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a great-grandson, Tony Maschino, along with four brothers Francis, Clement, David and Richard, and five sisters Helen Zanconato, Jean Hatch, Beverly Rawlings, Elizabeth Simon, and Alma Hospod.
There will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
