Obituary for Clare T. Downey
Clare Theresa Downey, 92, formerly of Cheshire, died Friday, December 27, 2013, at Sweet
Brook Care Center in Williamstown.
Born in Adams on May 25,1921, the daughter of Frank Z. and Tekla Misiasek Brendza, she
attended Adams schools.
Mrs. Downey was a homemaker.
She enjoyed sewing, painting, and gardening.
Her first husband, Walter J. Koza, died in 1971. She was pre-deceased by her second husband,
George Downey, who died in 2003.
Mrs. Downey is survived by her daughter, Geraldine C. Baran and her husband, John.
two grandsons, Jonathan Paul Baran and his wife Barbara of Cheshire and Christopher Baran and his wife Colette also of Cheshire ; and seven great grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Clare Koza Downey will be private with burial to be in Cheshire Cemetery.
There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cheshire
Volunteer Fire Department.
