Obituary for Christopher J. Slonski

Christopher J. Slonski, 55, of 1 Calumet Street, Pittsfield,
died at his home on November 14, 2013 after a courageous battle with Glioblastoma
Malformation of 21 months.
Born on September 27,1958 in Pittsfield, a son of Gertrude Gloria Kelly
Slonski and the late Joseph E. Slonski, he attended schools in Pittsfield and was
a graduate of Pittsfield High School, and was a
graduate of the Columbia-Green Vocational Technical School in New York.
He had been employed at the Berkshire Eagle as a press handler for nineteen
years. He also worked a Clarke-Akin, Sheaffer Eaton and Kelly's Lumber Yard.
He enjoyed photography, and you would often see him on the sidelines watching
his nephew through the lens of his camera at many sporting events. He especially
loved spending time with his family.
He enjoyed all New England sports, especially the Boston Red Sox and the
Patriots
Mr. Slonski leaves his wife, the former Michelle Baker, whom he married June
11, 1988.
Besides his wife and his mother, he is survived by two sisters, Amy Fox of
Dalton and Susan White
and her husband, Dean, of Peru; a brother, Joseph Slonski of Savoy; his father-
and mother-in-law,
Lawrence "Butch" and Rose Baker of Cheshire; a sister-in-law, Colleen Martin
and her husband, James,
of Pueblo, Colorado; a niece, Carrie Knauth and her husband, Benjamin, and
their son, Jacob, of
Pittsfield; three nephews, Shaun Fox, Brandon Martin, and Cameron Martin; many
aunts, uncles, and cousins; and dear friends Mary "Mickey" McCumiskey Renee
Kolbusz,as well as his four-legged friends, Mister Neiko and Miss Minn.
He was pre-deceased by a sister, Melinda Slonski, a nephew, Joshua Burnell, and
brother-in-law, John Fox.

Funeral notice:
Funeral services for Christopher J. Slonski will be held
Tuesday, November 19, at 9:15 a.m. from
DERY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., at St.
Charles Church celebrated by
Rev. Peter A. Gregory,Pastor. Burial will follow in St.Joseph's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Monday,
from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.,at DERY FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions may be made to the John Fox Memorial Fund or the Eleanor Sonsini
Animal Shelter in care of the Funeral Home,
54 Bradford Street,Pittsfield.
