Obituary for Charlotte Rand

Mrs. Charlotte Ione "MIMIE" Rand, 89, a former longtime resident of 52 West Mountain Road, Cheshire, Ma. died on Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at Heritage Hall Health Care in Nassawadox, Virginia where she had been a resident for the past six months. She moved to Painter, Virginia four years ago to be close to her son. Born on March 12, 1917 in Orange, Massachusetts a daughter of the late George and Marion Moulton Milliken. She attended schools in Orange, Ma. and was a graduate of Orange High School. She had resided in Cheshire, Ma. for many years. At one time Mrs. Rand had worked as a sales clerk at the for Montgomery Wards on North St. in Pittsfield for 15 years retiring in 1970. She was active in the Franklin Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star in North Adams, the Mildred Stevens Chapter of the Eastern Star on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, a member of the Cheshire Reading Club, a member of the Emmaus Community of the Eastern Shore of Virginia, a member of the First Baptist Church in Pittsfield and attended Painter-Garrison United Methodist Church in Painter, Virginia. Years ago she was involved with 4-H in Cheshire, Ma. She enjoyed reading. She was the wife of Charles A. Rand whom she married August 2, 1938; he died May 1, 1992. She leaves her son, Charles E. Rand of Painter, Virginia. 11 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter Elizabeth rand Kittler on Aug. 3, 1993.


FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Charlotte I. "Mimie" Rand, who died Sept. 27, 2006, will be held Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church in Cheshire, Ma. with the Rev. Allen P. Boliek, husband of Mrs. Rand's granddaughter Jennifer. Burial will follow in the Cheshire Cemetery. A visiting hour will precede the service at the church from 10 to 11 A.M. In lieu of flowers memorials in her memory may be made to Hospice Care of Northern Berkshire in care of DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME, P.O. Box 445, Cheshire, Ma. 01225 which is handling arrangements. Mrs. Rand is lovingly survived by her eleven grandchildren, Sandra Martin, Marion Rennell, Carol Raymond, John Garlin, Virginia Danielsen, Catherine Martel, Sarah Sanford, Elizabeth Gwara, Judith Kittler-Zmijak, Charles W. Rand and Jennifer R. Boliek. Also survived by her son in law, David M. Kittler and daughter in law, Marilyn Rand. She was predeceased by her adored daughter, Elizabeth Rand Kittler on August 3, 1993 and by a great great grandson, Ian Lemaire.
