Obituary for Charles L. Stankiewicz

Charles "Charlie" L. Stankiewicz, 47, of 179 Balance Rock Rd. died at home on Sunday, June 14, 2009 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Pittsfield August 2, 1961 he was a son of the late Charles A. Stankiewicz and Phyllis Delano Stankiewicz of Pittsfield. He graduated from Taconic High School in 1979. A machinist by trade, he worked at the former General Electric Co. for many years then for Beloit Co. for many years and most recently for General Dynamics. He was a member of St. Charles Church. His home and family was everything to him, he leaves his wife and partner in life for over 30 years Monica Jurczyk Stankiewicz of whom he married July 20, 1985 and a daughter Emma whom he loved taking nature walks in the woods with and son Ian whom he loved taking dirt bike riding with both of Lanesboro. He also leaves two sisters Marie White of Becket and Karen Langlois of Pittsfield and three brothers Michael Stankiewicz of North Ogden, UT , Anthony Stankiewicz of Pittsfield and Phillip Stankiewicz of Nashville TN he also leaves his father and mother in laws Edward and Helena Jurczyk of Lanesboro and many nieces and nephews brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.

Funeral Notice: Funeral service for Charlie L. Stankiewicz,47, of 179 Balance Rock Rd. Lanesboro who died June 14, 2009 will be held Thursday at 9:15am from DERY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Charles Church, celebrated by Rev. Peter Gregory, Pastor, burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4-7pm. The omission of flowers is requested. Memorial donations may be made to the Stankiewicz Children's Education Fund in care of the funeral home 54 Bradford St.
Pittsfield, 01201. Also the family would like have friends and family share photos and stories as a celebration of Charlie's life at the guest book at Berkshire Eagle.
