Obituary for Charles L. Seddon

CHARLES LESLIE SEDDON, 59, of 27 Dewey Avenue, Pittsfield, died Wednesday morning at his home.
Born in Pittsfield, December 6, 1947, a son of Laurence R. and Lois Fraser Seddon, he attended Pittsfield schools and earned his General Equivalency Diploma while in the military.
A Viet Nam War veteran, he served in the United States Army from February
6, 1969, and was stationed in Viet Nam from May 1969 to April 1970. He was honorably discharged on March 21, 1972, with the rank of sergeant and awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
Mr. Seddon was the owner of Charles Seddon Woodworking for 30 years,retiring in 2006 due to ill health. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church. He was a member of the
National Builders Association and the Western Massachusetts Builders Association.
He was also a member of the American Pool Association. Mr. Seddon leaves his wife, the former Barbara Kidd, whom he married
August 29, 1964.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Charles L. Seddon of Hollis,
New Hampshire, Eric V. Fields of Revere, Massachusetts, David R. Seddon of
Battle Creek, Michigan, and Eric M. Seddon of Cheshire; two daughters, Dawn M. Seddon of Pittsfield and Faith E. Seddon of Belchertown; two brothers, Lawrence Seddon
of Dorset, Vermont, and George Seddon of Vernon, Connecticut; and four grand-children.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for CHARLES L. SEDDON, who died Wednesday, May 2,
will be Friday, May 4, at 8:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m., at St. Joseph Church, celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Michael A. Shershanovich, Pastor. Calling hours will be Thursday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Seddon may be
made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires or to Relay for Life, Brigham Strollers Team,
both in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield. Mr. Seddon also leaves his four grandchildren, Rebecca A. Seddon, Jared T.
Seddon, Jonatghan D. Seddon and Claire L. Seddon.
