Obituary for Charles Louis Eugene Plourde Mr.

Charles Louis Eugene Plourde, 100, formerly of Elizabeth St. Pittsfield, Ma. Died Sunday October 14, 2012 at Springside of Pittsfield where he has resided since June of 2011. Born on July 4, 1912 in Amesbury, Ma. A son of the late Elise and Josephine Cote Plourde. He attended schools in Amesbury, Ma. He was last employed by General Electric Company as a setup man for 26 years retiring in 1974; prior to GE he had worked as a setup man for Pratt & Whitney. He enjoyed fixing automobiles, and had built a snowmobile before they were ever being made. He was a longtime communicant of Notre Dame Church and Saint Teresa's Church. He is now a communicant of Saint Joseph's Church. His wife the former Cora M. Nolan died April 2, 1997. He is survived by three granddaughters, Brenda Plourde-Calvert and her husband Clark, Jhena Plourde and Christine Plourde. A great grandson, Cameron Calvert. His longtime companion Gladys Clairmont. He was predeceased by his sons, Norman and Robert Plourde.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held Friday, at 8:15 a.m. from the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, Ma. Followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. at Saint Joseph's Church, celebrated by the Rev. Msgr. Michael Shershanovich, pastor. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at Dery Funeral Home will be Thursday from 2 to 4 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorials in his memory may be made to Saint Joseph's Church in care of the funeral home.
