Obituary for Charles F. Lubold Jr.

Charles Frank Lubold, Jr., 73, of 638 County Road, Becket, died Monday, December 2, 2013, at
Berkshire Medical Center, following his battle with cancer.
Born in Pittsfield on July 8, 1940, a son of Charles F. Lubold, Sr., and Viola F. Williams Lubold,
he was a graduate of Dalton High School and attended the University of Massachusetts.
He served with the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964 and was stationed in Germany.
Mr. Lubold was employed by General Electric Company in its Ordnance Systems Division,
Martin Marietta, Lockheed Martin, and General Dynamics, a total of 30 years, retiring in 1999. He also
worked part-time for Wahconah Mold and for Roy's Orthopedics.
He was a member of Central Berkshire Bowman and in earlier years won the Massachusetts
Boys State championship. He had an interest in engines and was a train enthusiast. He also enjoyed
gardening, logging, and archery.
Mr. Lubold leaves his wife, the former Sandra Pemble, whom he married July 12, 1966.
He is also survived by two daughters, Kirsten M. Britt and her husband, David, of Maple
Grove, Minnesota, and Jeannine M. Parikh, M.D., and her husband, Manish, of Ashland, Kentucky;
two sons, Charles F. Lubold, III, and his wife, Rupal, of Island Park, New York, and Kenneth M. Lubold
and his wife, Mary, of Plymouth, Minnesota; two sisters, Charlene Engwer of Dalton, and Judy Perkins,
of Pittsfield; a brother, Rockwell Viner of Gautier, Mississippi; his foster mother, Beverly Gillette of
Becket; a foster sister, Deborah Bruneau of Becket; a foster bother, Roger Gillette, of Orlando, Florida;
eight grandchildren, Elliot Charles Britt, Lauren Elizabeth Britt, Zachary Manish Parikh, Cameron Nayan
Parikh, Maya Radhika Lubold, Emma Josephine Lubold, Charles F. Lubold, IV., and Hannah Marie
He was pre-deceased by a brother, John Viner, and three sisters, Glenda Sinico, Beverly
Child, and Marilyn Nopper, and his best buddy, his dog, "Joey".

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Charles F. Lubold, Jr., will be held Thursday, December 5, with a Liturgy
of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Church celebrated by Rev. Peter A. Gregory, Pastor.
Burial will be in North Becket Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at
DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
