Obituary for Charles E. Hallock Sr.

Charles Edward Hallock, Sr., 62, of 17 Seymour St. in Pittsfield passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at his home. Born on April 17, 1953 in Westfield, MA he was the son of the late Carl E. and Phyllis Sampson Hallock. A longtime Pittsfield resident, he was educated in local schools and was a graduate of Wahconah Regional High School and also attended Berkshire Community College.
He went on to proudly serve his country as a decorated Sargent in the United States Army during Operation Iraqi Freedom. At one time he was an Assistant Manager at Burger King and Wendy's and also worked at Walmart in Florida. Also in his earlier years he was a member of the Hinsdale Volunteer Fire Department.
Charles enjoyed spending time at the Senior Center playing cards, golfing, fishing, especially deep sea fishing, hunting, the beach, and spending time with his sons. He was also a diehard fan of the New York Yankees.
He leaves his sons; Charles E. Hallock Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Pittsfield, and Brian Hallock and his wife Rebecca also of Pittsfield, nine grandchildren; his brothers; John Hallock and his wife Valerie of Peru, MA, Rodger Hallock of FL and James Hallock of CA; his sisters; Sherry Midoneck and her husband Steve of SC and Sally Rivers and her husband Mark of AZ, and many nieces and nephews and Tessa Lambert.
He was predeceased by his parents as well as his former wife Wanda A. Valday.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service for Charles E. Hallock of Pittsfield who died March 12, 2016 will be held April 2, 2016 at Christian Assembly Church 850 Williams St. Pittsfield at 1p.m., celebrated by Pastor David McIntosh. Burial with Full Military Honors will be private at the Massachusetts National Veterans' Cemetery in Bourne. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations in memory of Charles may be made to Soldier On in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA 01201.
