Obituary for Chad H. LaRosa

Chad H. LaRosa, 42, of 16 Bailey Road, Lanesborough, died Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at his home.
Born in Pittsfield on January 28, 1971, son of the late John J. Furey and Theresa Morgan LaRosa, he was educated in Lanesborough and Williamstown schools and was a graduate of Mount Greylock Regional High School.
Chad enjoyed farming and gardening and was employed as a farm hand.
He enjoyed taking part in the Special Olympics. He won both bronze and silver medals in cross-country skiing.
Chad is survived by a brother, Robert Furey, of Thornton, Colorado; four sisters, Chris-Ellen M. Furey of Dalton, Jacquelyn Nelson of Pittsfield, Marybeth Furey of
Pittsfield, and Becky Barton of Pittsfield; two nieces, Ashley Glasener and Asia Nelson-
Adams; four nephews, Evan Glasener, Joshua Furey, Nicholas Furey, and Jory Nelson, and many great nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by his stepfather, Rocco LaRosa, who was a very special
part of his life.
The family expresses a special thank you to the members of the Adams and
Lanesborough Police Departments of whom Chad was very fond.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Chad LaRosa will be held at a later date with burial to be in
Mountain View Cemetery in Lanesborough. There are no calling hours. In lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics in care of DERY
FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
