Obituary for Cecelia "Bunky" Handley

Cecelia 'Bunky' Handley, born on December 26, 1929 united with her beloved husband, William B. Handley on December, 11, 2014. She was at home under the care of Hospice and her family by her side.
Bunky was born in Danville, IL and later graduated from the University of Illinois as a Registered Nurse. She worked on the Pediatric floor at Lakeview Hospital in Danville, Illinois in the 1970's. She enjoyed hosting wonderful parties complete with singing carols around the piano for many symphony and choir members alike while living at 214 W. Harrison in Danville, Il. After Bill's passing in 2000, Bunky eventually moved to Dalton, Ma near her daughter, Mary Verdi.
Bunky was a devoted wife and mother and friend to all. She is survived by several brothers and sisters across the country, her son John Handley of Grand Junction, Colorado; son Paul and Michelle Handley of Chandler, Arizona and her daughter, Mary Verdi and husband James Culliton, Jr.
She also leaves her grandchildren: Megan, Kristin, Cole, Emily, Charlie, Julia, Madilyn, Kate, Trip and Gabe. Rest peacefully mom. We love you Grammy!
Bunky will be laid to rest with her husband in Danville, Illinois on January 9, 2015 at the Danville National Cemetery. Mass will be held in the chapel at 12pm.
