Obituary for Catherine E. White

Catherine Elizabeth White, 73, of Dalton, MA, passed away November 27, 2023 at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Pittsfield on May 15, 1950, she was the daughter of James and Ruth Croughwell McNeice. Cathy was a graduate of St. Joseph High School and Berkshire Community College, and trained in Selma, Alabama as an LPN. A registered nurse for 36 years, she was employed at Berkshire Medical Center for most of her career. Cathy worked in many departments including Radiology and most recently traveled around Berkshire County on the BHS Bloodmobile.

Catherine married Michael White on April 18, 1986.

A communicant of St. Agnes, she enjoyed playing tennis, taking her cherished golden retriever for walks and to the park, and spending time with her family. Above all, she enjoyed caring for others: her family, dogs, patients, and everyone who entered her personal or professional life; her kind and considerate nature was deeply apparent to anyone who knew her.

Mrs. White is survived by her husband of 37 years, Michael White of Dalton; their children, Erin White of Pittsfield, Haley Bodine and husband William of Pittsfield, and Kate White of Boulder, CO; two beloved grandchildren, Rosalind and Lila Bodine; and her dog, Honey the golden retriever of Dalton. She also leaves her siblings, Robert McNeice of Richmond, VA and MaryAnn Archey of Pittsfield, and many adored nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and four brothers, James, Rev. Charles, John, and David McNeice.
