Obituary for Catherine M. Haddad-Beron

CATHERINE M. HADDAD-BERON, 39, of 16 Oak Hill Road, Pittsfield, died Sunday afternoon at Berkshire Medical Center as the result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident earlier in the day.Born in Arlington, Massachusetts, September 7, 1967, a daughter of Joseph and Mary Greaney Haddad of Dalton, she was a 1985 graduate of St. Joseph Central High
School and was a 1989 graduate of University of Massachusetts at Amherst where she
earned a master's degree in accounting.
On August 7, 1989, Mrs. Haddad-Beron went to work for Berkshire Health Systems where she began as a junior staff accountant. She progressed in her career,including work in business development, business planning, cost accounting, contracting,
and budgeting, and became Director of Reimbursement. At the time of her death, she
held the position of Administrative Director of Financial Services for the Berkshire
Health Systems. Mrs. Haddad-Beron was a member of the Health Care Financial Management
Association, a national organization, where she held the position of fellowship, the
highest rank of the organization. She was also active in Berkshire Medical Center
activities including serving as campaign manager for the Berkshire United Way, as well
as the hospital's annual golf tournament and Create-a-Dream fundraisers.
Mrs. Haddad-Beron was a communicant of St. Agnes Church. She was a member
of the Hospital Finance Management Association and served on the Board of Directors of
the Berkshire Federal Credit Union, and was a Big Sister through the Pittsfield Girls
Club. She enjoyed hiking, biking, snowmobiling, and camping, and time with family and
friends. She leaves her husband, Harry Beron whom she married October 24, 2003.
Besides her husband and her parents, Mrs. Haddad-Beron is survived by two
stepsons, Harry Beron, III of Dalton, and Robert Beron of Dalton; a brother, Stephen
Haddad of Lawrenceville, Georgia; two sisters, Andrea Wasuk of Dalton and Suzanne
Drury of Pittsfield; and her maternal grandmother, Winnifred Greaney of Dalton.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for CATHERINE M. HADDAD-BERON, who died
Sunday, April 22, will be Thursday, April 26, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Agnes Church, Dalton,
celebrated by Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's
Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at DERY
FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions in
memory of Mrs. Haddad-Beron may be made to St. Agnes School Memorial Fund in
care of the Funeral Home.
Mrs. Haddad-Beron also leaves her two nieces Julia Drury and Sofia Drury and her nephew, Brett Wasuk.
