Obituary for Carolyn D. Beals (Valentine)

Carolyn D. (Valentine) Beals, 76, of BerkshireTown Apartments, Pittsfield, formerly of
Cheshire, died Tuesday, November 3, at her home.
Born in Athol on September 1, 1939, the daughter of the late Carl W. Valentine, Sr., and
Dorothy B. Culley Valentine, she was educated in Athol and Pittsfield schools and was a 1958
graduate of Pittsfield High School.
For thirty years, Mrs. Beals worked as a certified home health aide for Up John, Olsten,
and lastly for Molari. She retired in 2006. Mrs. Beals had also been an Avon representative.
Her husband, Robert Earl Beals, whom she married November 3, 1979, at Notre
Dame Church in Pittsfield, died August 19, 2010.
Mrs. Beals is survived by three sons: Michael P. Kahn, Jr. of Naples, FL, Anthony M.
Kahn and his wife, Ellen, of Pittsfield, and James J. Devlin IV, of Cape Coral, FL; a daughter: Deborah Ann Devlin of Naples, FL; one brother: Jon Allen Valentine of Pennsylvania; as well as eight grandchildren: Craig Kahn, Courtney Hernandez, Allen Scaccia, Catherine Scaccia,, Matthew Scaccia, Jessica Devlin, Athena Kahn, and Kelly Kahn; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her brother Carl W. Valentine, Jr.


FUNERAL NOTICE:
Services for Carolyn Valentine Beals will be private. There are no calling hours. In
lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires or to
the Cheshire Fire Department both in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street,
Pittsfield.
