Obituary for Carol A. Thompson

Mrs. Carol A. Thompson, 62, of 17 Egremont Ave. in Pittsfield died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born on October 31, 1943 in Stockbridge, MA she was the daughter of the late John and Matilda banus Villanova. A lifelong resident of Pittsfield, she was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1963 graduate of Pittsfield High School. She was also a graduate of the former North Adams State College where she received a degree in cyto-technology and biology. She had worked at one time as an operator at Alarms of Berkshire County in the late 1980's. Prior to that she had worked in cyto-technology labs in the Albany area. At the time of her death she had been a foster parent for Foster Care through the Department of Social Services. She was a former communicant of St. Joseph's Church. She enjoyed traveling and camping. She leaves her husband, Stephen Q. Thompson of Pittsfield whom she married on June 8, 1984. She also leaves a daughter, Laurie J. Herrick of Pittsfield and a son, James D. Dimaina of the State of Florida. Two step-daughters, Nicole Hosier of Pittsfield and Kelly Campbell of West Babylon, NY on Long Island and six grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, the late William "Bill"Main who died in 2005.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Carol A. Thompson, 62, of Pittsfield died September 30, 2006. At her request their will be no services or calling hours. Following cremation burial will be private. She was predeceased by a brother, the late William "Bill"Main who died in 2005. The DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA is in charge of arrangements.
