Obituary for Carol Ann Plante

Carol Ann Plante, 78, of Pittsfield, MA, passed away January 9, 2021, at Berkshire Medical Center due to complications from Covid 19.

Born in Pittsfield on July 4, 1942, she was the daughter of the late George Lessor and Ida Reid.
Carol was a graduate of Pittsfield High School in 1960.

Carol began her career at Berkshire Life until married David Plante and started a family, which she then dedicated her time to raising her children and then three of her grandchildren. Later in life she became a Real Estate Agent working for Dottie Pires and Beverly Adams Realty. She had last worked at Arsenault Insurance Adjusters. She also volunteered as a Sunday School Teacher at the Pittsfield United Methodist Church then later as the Director of Sunday School at the Cheshire United Methodist Church where her husband Rev. David Plante was Pastor. She had an extreme love for children and was called "Ma" and "Gram" by many. Her husband Dave, who passed away January 11, 1989, would often smile and shake his head when he returned from work saying "You never know how many will be at the dinner table."

Survivors include her three children, Beth Plante (Glen LaCrosse) of Angier, NC, Ahlene Plante (Steven Morris) and Scott Plante of Pittsfield. Her grandson Thor Morris and her three grandsons of whom she raised, Jason LaCrosse (Joanne), Jeremey LaCrosse (Kari Daly) and Jamie Kickery all of Pittsfield. Her great grandchildren, Amy and Brynn-Lea LaCrosse, Autumn LeBlanc, Sidni and Emelia Anderson and Rylan Kickery. Her sister Ann Tricca (Angelo) of Pittsfield. Her sister in laws, Marjorie Steinberg of Danbury, CT. Sharon O'Neil of Gorham, NH. Her niece Ellen Bieber (Dennis) of Danbury, CT.

Carol was predeceased by her brother-in-law Alan Plante and niece Lisa Steinberg.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Due to Covid 19 a private memorial service will be held on January 29th 2021, with burial at the Pittsfield Cemetery. If friends and family desire, memorial contributions may be made to help defray funeral expenses in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA 01201.
