Obituary for Carol A. Deane

CAROL A. DEANE, 53, of 282 Stonehouse Road, Washington, a life-long resident of Washington, died Tuesday, January 1,2008 at her home.
Born in Pittsfield, August 6, 1954, a daughter of Lorraine Campbell Deane of Washington, MA and the late Alfred E. Deane, she was educated in Washington and Dalton schools and was a 1972 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School. In 1987, she graduated from Berkshire Community College with an associates degree in liberal arts.
At the time of her death, Miss Deane was a loan officer with Greylock Federal Credit Union where she had worked for the past 17 years.
From 1985 to 1987, she worked at the former Mapleview Nursing Home as the dietary manager and from 1987 to 1990, was also the Dietary Manager at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility.
Miss Deane was a communicant of the former St. Matthew's Church in Becket. She was actively involved with the American Cancer Society Relay for Life team at Greylock Federal Credit Union and was active with the Big Brothers-Big Sisters Bowling Tournament. She enjoyed reading, Sudoku, travel, theater, dancing, and cooking.
Besides her mother of Washington, Miss Deane is survived by three sisters, Yvonne A. Wendling of Washington, Rosemarie E. Levernoch of Washington, and Mary A. Deane of Rockland, Massachusetts.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for CAROL A. DEANE, who died Tuesday, January 1, will be
Monday, January 7, at 9:15 a.m., from DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, with a
Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m, at St. Agnes Church celebrated by Rev.
Christopher A. Malatesta, Pastor. Burial will be in the Spring in Stonehouse Cemetery
in Washington. Calling hours will be Sunday, from 4:00 to7:00 p.m., at the Funeral
Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Miss Deane may be made to
Relay For Life in care of the Funeral Home, 890 East Main Street, Dalton.
Miss Deane also leaves her brother-in-law, Mark Levernoch, five nieces and
nephews, Jessica Sampson, Timothy Levernoch, Joshua Wendling, Daniel Wendling,
and Kayla Wendling; her great nephew, Evan Sampson; aunt and uncle, Joan & Wil
Cadman; aunt, Marie Eames; and uncle, Jack Campbell.
