Obituary for Carol Barosso

Pittsfield – Carol Ann Barosso, 71, of 203 Benedict Road, Pittsfield, died August 11, 2016 at the Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in Pittsfield on December 11, 1944, the son of Charles and Premitta Biagini Barosso, she attended Pittsfield Schools and was a 1963 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Carol was employed by the City of Pittsfield for forty years from 1966 to January 6, 2006 as a cashier in the Tax Collection department. She also worked for many years at Barosso Greenhouse assisting her father with the family business. Carol was a communicant of the former St. Mary's Church and a current communicant of St. Charles Church, she enjoyed playing BINGO and knitting. She is survived by three brothers; Peter Barosso and his wife Betty of Pittsfield, Charles Barosso and his wife Donna of Spring Hill, FL and John Barosso and his wife Sylvia of Pittsfield, one sister; Betty Jackson and her husband Ralph of Pittsfield, a niece; Carrie and her husband John of Guilderland, NY, a nephew; Kevin Barosso and his wife Leslie of Monument, CO and two great-nieces Lyndsey Hillenbrandt and Sydney Hillenbrandt both of Guilderland, NY. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Carol Ann Barosso, 71, who died August 11, 2016, will be held Wednesday, August 17, at 9:15 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Church celebrated by Rev. Peter A. Gregory, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Carol's memory may be made to Hospicecare In The Berkshires in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
