Carol M. Murk, 83, of 461 Elm Street passed away at home on November 1, 2017. Born on September 2, 1934 in Lee, she was a daughter of the late Earl H. Bradford Sr. and the late Veronica Cavanaugh Bradford. A longtime Pittsfield resident, she was educated in Lee schools and was a 1952 graduate of Lee High School. She also graduated from the Mansfield Beauty Academy. She married her husband, the late Melvin W. Murk in 1960. He died on May 10, 1972. A hairdresser for many years, she had worked at the Mayfair Beauty Salon and at salons in Miami Beach, FL. She also worked at one time as a teacher’s aide at West Side Community School. She retired in 2003. Carol enjoyed doing word searches and watching television game shows. Her greatest joy was her family and spending time with her grandson and her twin great grandchildren. She leaves a daughter; Carla M. Marquis of Pittsfield. Two brothers; Earl H. Bradford Jr. and his wife Joanne of Villages, FL and Robert R. Bradford and his partner Nina of Villages, FL. A sister; Charlene Borden of Irvine, CA and a grandson; Matthew R. Marquis and his partner Tasha M. Jones of Pittsfield. She also leaves her twin great grandchildren; Lylah Marquis and Landon Marquis as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers; Raymond and Frederick Bradford and by a sister; the late Ann Lockenwitz.



FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Carol M. Murk who passed away November 1, 2017 will be held Monday at 9:15 AM from the DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will take place on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph Cemetery. Those attending may meet inside the cemetery gate at 10:45 AM. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Memorial donations in memory of Carol may be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
