Obituary for Burleigh C. Dixon Sr.

Burleigh C. Dixon, Sr. 77, of Cheshire, Ma. died Thursday, June 19, 2008. Born on October 28, 1929 in Hyannis, Ma. He attended schools in Barnstable, Ma. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He has resided in Cheshire, Ma. most of his life. He was a self employed interior and exterior decorator for 55 years retiring in 1998. In his youth he worked on fishing vessels on Cape Cod. He enjoyed, dancing, fishing and drawing. His wife the former Virginia R. Gwazda died in 1991. He is survived by two sons, Burleigh C. Dixon and his wife Wang, Wayne A. Dixon and his fianc�e Pam Stutes. A daughter Terry A. Dixon. Two sisters, Marilyn Lewis and Velma Pelletier. Three grandsons, Evan and Dylan Dixon and Zachary Halkowicz. Nieces and Nephews. His companion of 8 years, Phyllis D. King. He was predeceased by a son William C. Dixon in 1977. A graveside service will be held Friday at 1:30 P.M. at Cheshire Cemetery, West Mountain Rd. Cheshire. No calling hours. Dery-Cheshire Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
