Obituary for Bruce E. Spaniol

BRUCE EDWARD SPANIOL, 59, of 89 Partridge Road, Pittsfield, died Saturday, January 30, at his home. Born in Pittsfield, on August 11, 1950, a son of Eleanor Butler Spaniol Pratt Gardner and the late Robert Spaniol, Sr., he was a graduate of Pittsfield schools.
At the time of his death, Mr. Spaniol was the chef at the Berkshire County House of Correction where he had been employed since 2000.
He had previously been the Chef at the former Springs restaurant in New Ashford for twelve years and at the former Ida & John's restaurant in Hancock for twelve years.
He enjoyed camping, going to amusements parks, and traveling.
Mr. Spaniol leaves his spouse, Warren G. Hawkes, whom he married February 4,
2005. Bruce and Warren had been together since 1977. Besides his mother and his spouse, Mr. Spaniol is survived by a daughter, Andrea
Lynn Spaniol and her companion, Lawrence Cotton, of Pittsfield; a granddaughter, Marisa Cotton; as well as three brothers, Robert Spaniol, Jr., of Pittsfield, Timothy Spaniol of Massachusetts, and Gerald Spaniol, of Punta Gorda, Florida.

FUNERAL NOTICE: There are no services or calling hours. The omission of flowers is requested. contributions in memory of Mr. Spaniol may be made to Marisa Cotton for her pre-established college fund in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield
