Obituary for Bruce R. Russell

Bruce Richard Russell, 59, formerly of 771 Tyler Street, Pittsfield, died Wednesday, March 5,
2014, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on April 16, 1954, a son of Omer and Julia Brown Russell, he was educated in
Pittsfield schools.
Mr. Russell was a cook at Hillcrest Commons for many years until 2010 when he retired due
to ill health.
He was an expert marksman. He was also Boston Red Sox and Miami Dolphins fan and enjoyed
watching sports on television, and playing pool.
Mr. Russell is survived by two sisters, Marlene Rivers and her husband, Ray, of Cheshire, and
Carol A. Badore and her husband, Gerald, of East Windsor, Conn.; as well as nieces and nephews, great
nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
He was pre-deceased by a brother, Ronald "Butch" Russell.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Calling hours for Bruce Richard Russell will be held Friday, March 14, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at
DERY FUNERAL HOME in PITTSFIELD. A prayer service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Sigmund
Sadzinski officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes
Association in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
