Obituary for Bonny-Lou Demastrie

Bonny-Lou Demastrie, 60, of 258 Lenox Avenue, Pittsfield, died Sunday, October 26, 2014, at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield on September 5, 1954, daughter of the late William and Elaine Hooper-Waters, she was a 1972 graduate of Pittsfield High School and received an associate's degree in human services from Berkshire Community College. Bonny-Lou had been an ophthalmic technician's assistant to Dr. John Galt for five years. She had also worked as a waitress at Berkshire Truck Stop and at Peter's Diner. She enjoyed horses, ballet, stargazer lilies, as well as reading and spending time with her family. She leaves her husband, David E. Demastrie, whom she married April 1, 1981. Mrs. Demastrie is also survived by two sons, Thomas William Barriere, Jr and his wife, Jessica, of Dayton, Ohio, and Justin Barriere and his wife, Sandy, of Fort Myers, Florida; a sister, Judy Waters of Boston; a brother, William Waters and his wife, Bonnie, of Feeding Hills; and two grandchildren, Aiden Barriere and Skye Thomas Barriere; as well as her mother-in-law, Clara Demastrie of Pittsfield; her brother-in-law, Christopher Demastrie and his wife, Debra, of Pittsfield; and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her infant son, Adam Christopher Barriere, a brother, Thomas Waters, and father-in-law, Edward Demastrie.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Bonny-Lou Demastrie will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires or to the American Diabetes Association, both in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
