Obituary for Blanche Partridge Matarazzo

Blanche Virginia Partridge Matarazzo, 87, formerly of 389 High Street, Dalton, Ma. died Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Hillcrest Commons in Pittsfield where she has resided for the past 6 ½ years. Born on May 1st, 1927 in Dalton, Ma. a daughter of the late John C. and Mary Jane Roberts Partridge. She attended schools in Dalton and was a graduate of Dalton High School. A homemaker at onetime she had been employed for the General Electric Company where she also modeled and for various department stores on North St. in Pittsfield as a clerk, she also had worked at the former Rice's Silk Mill. She enjoyed candle pin bowling, country music and animals especially cats and dogs. She had been a member of the Dalton United Methodist Church. She was the wife of John G. "Johnnie" Matarazzo he died in 1961.
She is survived by two sons, Jackie Matarazzo of Dalton, Ma. and Bobbie Matarazzo and his wife Betsy of Lee, Ma. Two grandchildren, Bryan Matarazzo of Pittsfield and Julie Matarazzo of Lee. One great granddaughter, Tessa Matarazzo. A Sister in law, Lucy Socha of Adams. She was predeceased by two brothers, Al and Bob DeCelles and by two sisters, Adele Lyman and Yvonne Howard. FOREVER YOUNG IN OUR HEARTS, SHE WILL LIVE THRU ETERNITY.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at the DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main Street, Dalton, Ma. with the Rev. Charles Young officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashuelot Cemetery, Dalton. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home.
