Obituary for Blanche M. Harubin

BLANCHE MARY HARUBIN, 89, of 110 Asci Drive, Pittsfield, died Friday,
February 8, at Providence Care Center of Lenox.
Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, October 20, 1918, a daughter of Louis and
Antonina Serowik Duda, she was a 1936 graduate of Pittsfield High School and a 1939
graduate of St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing. A registered nurse by profession, Mrs. Harubin had been employed by General
Electric Company Medical Center for eighteen years. She had worked as a nurse at the
former St. Luke's Hospital (now Berkshire Medical Center and had also done private
duty nursing. Mrs. Harubin was a communicant of Holy Family Church and had been a member
of its Mothers Guild. She was also a member of the St. Luke Alumni Association.
Her husband, Edward S. Harubin, whom she married October 5, 1940, at Holy
Family Church in Pittsfield, died May 20, 1968.
Mrs. Harubin is survived by four daughters, Mary Ann Nordell of Pittsfield,
Eleanor Olson of Boylston, Louise H. Penney of Pittsfield, and Elizabeth H. Sinwell of
Foster, Rhode Island; two brothers, Louis Duda of Atlanta, and Walter Duda of Pittsfield;
a sister, Stella Koza of Brewster, Massachusetts; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a sister, Honora Majchrowski.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for BLANCHE M. HARUBIN will be Saturday, February 16, at
8:15 a.m, from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00
a.m., at Holy Family Church, celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Michael A. Shershanovich,
Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday,
from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory
of Mrs. Harubin may be made to the Dalton Public Library in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
