Obituary for Biase Breda

Mr. Biase "Benny" Breda, 67, of 31 Richardson Street, Pittsfield, Ma. Died Friday morning at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born on February 4, 1940 in Turrivalignani, province of Pescara, Italy. A son of the late Paolo and Cicilia Breda Breda. He attended Italian Schools. Mr. Breda came to the United States on July 13, 1963 from Italy settling in Pittsfield, Ma. He was employed for the former A.H. Rice Silk Mill from 1964 until his retirement in 2006; he held the position of a First Class License Engineer in the Boiler Room. He also held a pipe filler license at the company. He was a communicant of All Soul's Church and enjoyed gardening and working around his home and yard. He leaves his wife the former, Antoinetta Orticelli whom he married at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Pittsfield on August 24, 1963. Besides his wife he leaves a son, Paolo D. "Paul" Breda of Pittsfield, Ma. A daughter, Miss Stefania L. Breda of Pittsfield, Ma. Two sisters, Antoinetta Canzano and Ciara DiCicco both of Turrivalignani, Italy. And Two Grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Biase "Benny" Breda who died February 23, 2007 will be held TUESDAY at 9:00 A.M. from the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, Ma. followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at All Soul's Church, celebrated by the Rev. Geoffrey Deeker CSS, pastor. Burial will be private at Saint Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held MONDAY from 4 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials in his memory be made to the Christopher Dondi Liver Transplant Fund in care of the funeral home. Biase is lovingly survived by his two grandchildren, Alexis S. Breda and Jenna K. Leja. By his daughter in law, Emily Guinan Breda, by his sisters in law, Leva DeSanctis and Domenica Petaccia and by his two nieces, Sylvana Bryan and Angelina DiTomasso and by his four nephews, Luciano and Paolo DeSanctis, Fiorenzo and Gian Paolo Canzano. He was predeceased by his loving sister Iolanda Tolomeo of Italy. Biase will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
