Our mother, Beverly Hall Smith, 78 years old, of Pittsfield Massachusetts sadly left us on January 25th, 2023. She has been reunited with her mother, Violet Lester Hall, her father Thomas Hall, and the four brothers whom she adored: Milton, Thomas, Edward, and Richard Hall and her daughter, our sister, Sally Smith and her foster son, Jason Litchfield, and of course her absolute best friend in this world Kathleen Dunnells. She has also finally been able to meet the two sisters who died before she was born, Shirley & Rita.
She leaves behind her husband, of 44 years, Robert F Smith, her children: Susan Sykes (John), Shirley Campagna (Stan), Robert Bradley (Karen), Patty Mazzurco (Chuck), Roberta Gauvin (Charlie), Melinda Pierce (Rick), Robert Smith Jr, Joseph Smith (Christine),son in law Carlton Smith, Sally’s husband. And lots of foster children, whom are now adults. She was a foster parent for many years.
She was heavily involved it the Pittsfield police DARE program. She was very proud of that chapter of her life. She enjoyed car shows with her husband, keeping up with the lives of her 30 grandchildren and over 25 great grandchildren on Facebook.
Mom, you were such a true fighter. This feels like a dream. We are so sorry that we couldn’t get you back home where you wanted to be but now you are Home with God and you have made your reunion with your parents and all of your siblings. Give Sally a huge hug for us.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield with Rev. Peter A. Gregory officiating. Burial will follow at Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the American Lung Association in care of the funeral home.
