Obituary for Betty W. Clemons
Betty W Clemons of Pittsfield passed away suddenly on April 26, 2021 at the age of 84 at Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was born in Pittsfield on April 26, 1937, daughter of Harold and Madeline Powell Wesley. She married John T Clemons on August 12, 1956. She was retired from the Berkshire Eagle after 50 years of service in the Circulation Department.
Betty is survived by her husband John Clemons of 65 years; her sons, John M Clemons (Marlene) of Pittsfield, Jeffrey Clemons (Jody) of Pittsfield, and Scott Clemons of Pittsfield; daughters, Jean Simmons (Edward) of Pittsfield, Judi Clemons (Mike) of Pittsfield, Jackie Biondi (Larry) of Voorhees, NJ. She is also survived by her two sisters, Judy Clary (Cliff) of Adams, Marian Burzimati (Ross) of Hinsdale. Betty also leaves her seven grandchildren, Sara who was her best friend, Matthew, Becky (Jamal), Kelsey, RJ, Michael (Sarah), Carly and two great granddaughters, Cortnee and Kyleigh, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Gary, her grandson Sheldyn, and two brothers, her twin, Neil Wesley, and Billy Wesley.
Betty was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church of Lenox where she was a member of the church choir, director of the children's choir and a member of the Gospel Gang. She loved to sing at all hours of the day and night. Her church family was a huge part of her life.
Betty enjoyed playing and winning at cards at the Senior Center as well as in leagues and with her family. She also enjoyed playing Bingo with all her bingo buddies.
Betty loved life and loved people. She had many, many friends who she enjoyed talking and laughing with. She literally lit up a room with her smile and her pleasant disposition. She was by far the best hugger ever. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of Lenox, 6 Holmes Road, Lenox, MA. Due to COVID restrictions, space at the church will be limited. For those who would like to view the services, use the following Zoom Link *Join Zoom Meeting
