Obituary for Bessie C. Zarvis

Bessie C.  Zarvis
Bessie C. Zarvis, 85, of 40 Darlene Avenue, Pittsfield, died Monday, August 7, 2017, at
her home.
Born in Pittsfield on March 22, 1932, a daughter of Costis D. and Helen Vorelas Zarvis,
she was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Miss Zarvis was employed by General Electric Company where she was an Executive
Secretary for 43 years retiring in 1995.
She was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church where she had been a Sunday School teacher and had been President of its Ladies Philoptochos Society.
Bessie was a # 1 Tom Brady fan.
Miss Zarvis is survived by a niece, Elaine Economys of Hollywood, Florida; a nephew, Peter Economys of Port St. Lucie, Florida; and a godson, Peter Ekonomen of N. Carolina
She was pre-deceased by her sister, Anastasia “Ann” Zarvis, who died April 25, 2011.


FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Bessie C. Zarvis will be held Friday, August 11, at 10:00 a.m., at St.
George Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Fr. John G. Maheras, Protoprebyter, officiating. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery.
The church will be open for family and friends preceding the service, beginning at 9:30 a.m., at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox
Church, 73 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
