Obituary for Bertha L. Keen

Bertha Louise Keen, 83, of 57 Salisbury Court, Pittsfield, died Sunday, April 3, 2016, at
Mount Carmel Care Center in Lenox.
Born in Woodsville, New Hampshire on January 18, 1933, the daughter of Adelard and
Emma Proulx Boucher of Rock Island, Quebec, she was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1951 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. Keen was a homemaker, mother and longtime communicant of St. Mark Church.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, both hers and her children's.
She was a Red Sox and Patriots fan. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards, and singing. Bertha was a long time member of The Sweet Adeline's chorus. Her husband, Joseph C. Keen, whom she married in 1952, died November 22, 1991.
Mrs. Keen is survived by six children, Joseph C. Keen, Jr., and Susan, of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, Lawrence M. Keen and Bonnie, of Wayne, Pennsylvania,
Gregory J. Keen and Lisa, of Pittsfield, Sandra A. Keen and Richard,
of Pittsfield, Joyce M. Hould and Dan, of Oswego, New York,
and Robert D. Keen and Denise, of Pittsfield; ten grandchildren, Joseph, Liam,
Connor, Ryan, Renee, Kellie, Anna, Adam, Nathan, and Collin; three great grandchildren,
Rhodes, Sander, and Clayton, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was pre-deceased by her eleven siblings.





FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Bertha Louise Keen will be held Friday, April 8, with a Liturgy of
Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., at St. Mark Church celebrated by Rev. John C. Salatino, Pastor.
Burial will be in Pittsfield Cemetery at a later date. Calling hours will be Thursday, from 4:00
to 6:00 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made
to the Resident Council Fund at Mount Carmel Care Center in care of the Funeral Home, 54
Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
