Obituary for Barbara Douglass Robinson

Barbara Douglass Robinson, 93, formerly of 84 Emerson Avenue in Pittsfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, December 2, 2022.
Barbara was born in Pittsfield, MA on June 7, 1929 to the late Crawford Douglass and Helen McNerney Douglass Swan. Her beloved stepmother, Marion Furness Douglass, raised her from a young age.
Barbara was married to the late Robert C. Robinson on February 16, 1952.
Barbara was a graduate of Pittsfield High School. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pittsfield, where she volunteered in the soup kitchen. She also volunteered at the Christian Center, Berkshire Medical Center, and donated over 100 pints of blood to the Red Cross. Barbara helped establish the Berkshire Brain Injury Support Group, the first in Berkshire County. When she wasn't volunteering or caring for her family, Barbara enjoyed gardening, bird watching and reading.
Barbara is survived by her sons Douglas Robinson (wife Denise) and Jeffery Robinson both of Pittsfield. She also leaves her brother Donald Douglass (wife Lina) of Cape Canaveral, FL; granddaughters Melissa Robinson Kearney (husband Brian, and their children Claire and Eli) and Lauren Robinson Tierney (husband Joshua, and their children Caleb and Liliana). She was predeceased by her husband Robert Robinson on June 30, 2011 and her sister Carol Sykes of Norco, CA.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A private graveside service will be held at Southview Cemetery in North Adams. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Brain Injury Association of MA or to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA.
