Obituary for Barbara A. Dubois

BARBARA ANNE DuBOIS, 78, formerly of Colonial Gardens, died Saturday
afternoon at Hillcrest Commons where she had resided since June 16.

Born in New York, New York, January 21, 1928, a daughter of Henry and Helen
Ryan Turner, she was a 1945 graduate of Lee High School and a 1948 graduate of St.
Luke's Hospital School of Nursing.

A registered nurse from 1950 to 1989, Mrs. DuBois worked at the former St. Luke's Hospital and at Hillcrest Hospital, and then worked as an Industrial Nurse at Eaton Paper Company and later as an Industrial and Occupational Health Nurse at General Electric Company. She was a communicant of the former Notre Dame Church until its closing and
was then a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church, and was a member of the St.
Luke's School of Nursing Alumni Association. She enjoyed bowling, and knitting and
crafts. Her husband, Alfred DuBois, whom she married June 24, 1950, in St. Joseph's
Church, Pittsfield, died May 1, 1979.
Mrs. DuBois leaves two sons, Garret A. DuBois of Pittsfield and James A. DuBois of Lowell; three daughters, Kathleen M. Borden of Peru, Nancy E. DuBois Vincent of Situate, Rhode Island, and Margaret M. Scott of Pittsfield; a sister, Margaret Mary Pepe of Stoney Brook, Long Island, New York; ten grandchildren and one great
grandson.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for BARBARA ANNE DuBOIS, who died Saturday, July 22,
will be Thursday, July 27, at 9:15 a.m., from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a
Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., at St. Francis Xavier Church, celebrated by
Rev. Daniel Meehan. Burial will be at a later date in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling
hours will be Wednesday, from 4:00 to 7:00, at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers,
contributions in memory of Mrs. DuBois may be made to St. Luke's School of
Nursing Alumni Association in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
Mrs. DuBois leaves her ten grandchildren, Heather E. Mahar, Benjamin T. Borden, Tiffany Vincent, Melissa Ferris, Jacqueline DuBois, Emily Scott, Turner Scott,Mollie Scott, Carressa DuBois, and Ryan DuBois, and a great grandson, Nathan Mahar. She was pre-deceased by two sisters.
