Obituary for Barbara Ann DaFonte
Barbara Ann DaFonte, 79, of Pittsfield, MA passed away July 12, 2020 at Albany Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on October 2, 1940, she was the daughter of the late George and Gizelda Balestro Cetto. She was a 1958 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Barbara married Thomas B. DaFonte on July 23, 1960 at St. Patrick’s Church in West Stockbridge. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this week.
She was primarily a homemaker, but prior to that she worked for the former Eaton Paper Company for 20 years.
Barbara could light up a room when she walked in with her infectious energy and spirit. She had a passion for dance and listening to music. She loved her cats, clothes and Red Sox. Barbara was committed to her baking and cooking so she could always be ready to entertain her friends and family. She would always bring along one of her famous cakes when she was invited out, never showing up empty handed.
Mrs. DaFonte leaves behind her beloved husband Thomas B. DaFonte of Pittsfield; a son, Thomas P. DaFonte and wife Kate of Pittsfield; daughter, Tina M. DaFonte of Pittsfield; former son in-law Earl D. Robinette of Pittsfield; two grandchildren, Zackery E. Robinette and wife Cynthia of Pittsfield and Jake T. Robinette and “his girl” Jen of Pittsfield; as well as her beloved cat, Ginger, and many loving friends.
Funeral Notice: Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
