Obituary for Arthur Wigglesworth

Arthur Wigglesworth, 91 passed away at home with his loving wife of 72 years and his family by his side on Wednesday, June 16, 2021. He was born in Pittsfield, Mass on April 19, 1930, the son of the late Walter Wigglesworth and Madeline Hover.

He married Patricia Thompson on January 8, 1949. In his early years, he was employed at Berkshire Woolen, then his family’s restaurant, the Westshore Club, and General Electric as a welder, retiring at age 60 as a manager in Quality.

He loved travelling with his wife and grandchildren spending many of the summer weeks vacationing along the eastern coast. He enjoyed traveling cross country and spending winters in Florida. He enjoyed playing cards, carpentry, and crafting. Family was most important to him. His wisdom, sense of humor, and smile will be greatly missed.

He leaves behind his wife, Patricia (Thompson) Wigglesworth; a son Michael Wigglesworth; his grandchildren Josh (Nicole) Wigglesworth, Amy (Michael) Aitken, Autumn (David) Fiedler, Michael (Steffanie) Wigglesworth; and great grandchildren, Lauren Aitken, Isabella Aitken, Hayden Pallos, Olivia Pallos, Palmina Wigglesworth, Weston Wigglesworth, Quinn Wigglesworth, and Ellie Wigglesworth. He also leaves a daughter-in-law, Deborah Wigglesworth. He was predeceased by his brother’s Wallace, Russell, Melvin, and sister Charlotte, son’s Arthur, Timothy, and grandson Eric.

At his request, there will be no services. Family will have a small private gathering to celebrate his life. Donations can be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield.

His family would like to thank HospiceCare in the Berkshires for their compassionate care during the last year of his life and a very special thank you to Tina, his PCA, for 2 ½ years. We are grateful for all you have done for our family.
