Tony graduated from St Joseph High School & served his country in the US Navy as a musician for 4 years on the USS Kearsarge during the Korean War. On July 29, 1950 he married Marita Ann Prew (predeceased November 28, 1999) & enjoyed 49 blessed years of marriage.
Tony is survived by children: Michele (husband Randy Hallowell), Tony, De-De, & Mark (wife Libby), as well as grandchildren: Jessica, Megan, Ben, Joe, Jackie & Tommy, 6 great-grandchildren, & beloved dog Brody. He also leaves his brother Thomas Plantier (wife Dibby) & several nieces & nephews. His sister Jeanne Supranowicz predeceased him.
As a mold maker Tony's primary career was at Marland Mold where he served as Union President & later in management. He was an avid reader, family historian, Musicians Union member, saxophone player, follower of national & local politics, Yankees & Celtics fan, & had the ingenuity to fix just about anything. He served as Usher & Lector at North American Martyrs Church & late in life regularly attended the 7:15 mass at St Charles. Tony will be remembered by local restaurants as one of their most reliable customers, always quick to share a compliment, a warm smile & a generous tip.
He leaves his family with the wisdom of wonderful philosophies & a life well-lived that serves as an inspiration for love, integrity, kindness, patience, generosity, practicality, humility, humor, grace & strength. Tony will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to know him. Comfort is found in knowing the Lord has called him to be in that number when the Saints go marching in.
