Obituary for Annette M. Giftos
Annette Marie Giftos, 80 of Pittsfield, passed away September 25, 2022 at Berkshire Medical Center.
She was born in Pittsfield on April 2, 1942 to William and Bibianne Lussier Parent.
She was a 1959 graduate of St. Joseph High School. Annette married Dean A. Giftos on September 11, 1965.
Mrs. Giftos was the owner and operator of Nana’s Nest at Papa’s Place, a daycare. She also had been employed for many years at New England Telephone.
She was a communicant of the former Notre Dame Church, where she was on the parish council and was a eucharistic minister. She was a member and past officer of the Ladies of St. Anne’s Guild. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and gardening.
She is survived by her husband Dean A. Giftos, Sr., of Pittsfield. Two daughters, Marie-Elena Dahlstrom (Claus) of Denmark, Nancy J. Trowill (Peter) of Lenox, and Dean A. Giftos, Jr., of Pittsfield. A brother, Robert R. Parent of Greenfield, MA. Five grandchildren, Frederik, Alexandra, Victoria, Kyle and Morgan. As well as her former daughter in-law Melissa Giftos of Pittsfield.
She was predeceased by her brother, Arthur W. Parent.
Funeral Notice: Calling hours will be held, Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, followed by a prayer service at 7 p.m. by Rev. Peter A. Gregory. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to The Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
