Obituary for Anne Katherine Pomeroy

Anne Katherine Pomeroy, 86, of 47 Seymour Street, Pittsfield, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on August 31, 1926, the daughter of Stanislaus and Macy
Lingoski Laston, she was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. Pomeroy was a homemaker.
During her school years, she worked at the former Wyandott Worsted Mill and then worked as an inspector for General Electric Company.
She was a Boston Red Sox fan who also enjoyed old movies and reading mystery
books.
Her husband, Alan S. "Slim" Pomeroy, whom she met at a Polish Falcons dance when he returned from World War II and married on January 7, 1950, died September 28, 2005.
Mrs. Pomeroy is survived by a daughter, Donna M. Contenta and her husband, Bob, of Pittsfield; two sons, Alan "Rick" Pomeroy and his wife, Elizabeth, of Pittsfield, and Robert S. Pomeroy of Pittsfield; three grandchildren, Jeffrey and his wife, Angela Tooley, Jillian Tooley, and Alyssa Pomeroy.
She was pre-deceased by a grandson, Philip.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Anne Katherine Pomeroy will be held Thursday, May 23, at 10:00 a.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield with Rev. Sigmund Sadzinski officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society or to the American Cancer
Society both in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
