Obituary for Anna R. Winters (Penna)
Anna R. Penna Winters, 102, formerly of Albro Street in Pittsfield, passed away May 8, 2023 at Berkshire Place, where she had resided for the past 7 years.
Born in Pittsfield on August 13, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Sinopoli Penna.
She was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Anna was an expeditor at General Electric Company for 40 years in the Power Transformer Department. A devout Catholic, she was a communicant of St. Mark’s Church and a member of the St. Mark’s Ladies Guild.
Mrs. Winters is survived by her sisters, Rose Pochinchuk of Bradenton, FL and Elizabeth (Betty) Froio and husband Richard of Pittsfield. As well as many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph, Frank, Vito, John, Anthony, James Penna, and infant brother, Vito. As well as her sister, Mary Ricci.
The family would like to thank Berkshire Place for the loving and tender care given to Anna.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held, Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 10 a.m.at St. Mark’s Church, con-celebrated by Rev. Christopher Fedoryshyn, Pastor and Rev. Msgr. Michael Shershanovich. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers donations may be made out to Make-A-Wish in care of the funeral home.
