Obituary for Anna K. Jurgensen

ANNA KATHERINE JURGENSEN, 98, of 1593 South State Road, Cheshire,
died Friday, December 11, at her home.
Born in Honau Lindorf, Germany, on June 15, 1911, a daughter of Johann and
Margaretha Muller Stapel, she attended German schools. She came to the United States in April 1929, settling in New York City, where
she lived until 1948 when she and her husband moved to Cheshire.
Mrs. Jurgensen, and her late husband, Fred Jurgensen, whom she married August 20, 1936, in Brooklyn, New York, were the owner-operators of the former Green Acres in Cheshire from 1948 until she sold the business in 1969. Mr. Jurgensen died January 13, 1968.
She enjoyed crocheting, dancing, flower gardening, and her dogs.
Mrs. Jurgensen is survived by four nieces, Ann "Anita" Reynolds and her husband, Lou, of Cheshire, Tina Bittner of Germany, Helga Elmar of Germany, and Dagmar Schilling of Germany; and several great nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by a brother, John Stapel, and by two sisters, Tina Bittner
and Greta Boelen.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for ANNA KATHERINE JURGENSEN, who died Friday, December 11, will be Sunday, December 13, at 7:00 p.m., at the DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME with Rev. William D. Furey officiating. Burial will be in the Spring in Cheshire Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Jurgensen may be made to the Cheshire Volunteer Fire Department in care of the Funeral Home, P.O. Box 445, Cheshire.
