Obituary for Anna Dubiski

Anna Dubiski, 89, of 162 West Housatonic Street, Pittsfield, died Saturday,
April 13, 2013, at her home.
Born in Pittsfield on October 27, 1923, a daughter of Ignatz and Dakia Duplak
Wowk, she was educated in Pittsfield schools and then received her high school diploma,
with her son, Michael, at Pittsfield High School in 1965.
Mrs. Dubiski was employed by General Electric Company as a Security Guard
in the Naval Ordnance Systems Division for 17 years retiring in 1992.
For thirty years prior to that, she had been a meat wrapper at the former A&P,
Adams Supermarket, and First National Store.
Mrs. Dubiski was a communicant of St. Joseph Church. She made the christening
bibs for the Church.
She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan who also enjoyed ceramics and making Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. She also enjoyed cooking her famous apple pies, entertaining, and traveling with her family.
Her husband, Michael Dubiski, died August 17, 1995.
Mrs. Dubiski is survived by two sons, Michael P. Dubiski, and his wife, Patricia,
of Huntersville, North Carolina, and Edward S. Dubiski and his wife, Shoko, of
Hoboken, New Jersey; a daughter, Irene E. Carmel of Pittsfield; a daughter-in-law,
Beverly Dubiski of Pittsfield; a sister, Pauline Martin of Pittsfield; four grandchildren,
Geoffrey Dubiski and his wife, Francine, Carleen Carmel, Tracy Carmel, and Barbie
Imler; nine great grandchildren, Zoe, Craig, Nycole, Justin, Taylor, Morgan, William,
Matthew, Alysia, and two great great grandchildren, Gabby and Aedyn; as well as her
sister-in-law Bonnie June Dubiski and loving nieces and nephews and their significant
others; and her longtime childhood friend, Ann Levinsky.
She was pre-deceased by a son, Frank E. Dubiski, in 1973; two grandchildren,
Jennifer Borgo and Patrick Dubiski; two brothers, Andrea and Michael Wowk; and
four sisters, Olga Allen, Agnes Stroehlin, Dorothy Bunt, and Nellie Wowk.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Anna Dubiksi will be held Wednesday, April 24, at 9:15 a.m.
from DERY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., at
St. Joseph Church celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Michael A. Shershanovich, Pastor. Burial
will be at a later date in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday, from
4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of
Mrs. Dubiski may be made to St. Joseph Church in care of the Funeral Home, 54
Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
