Obituary for Ann B. Reed

Ann B. Reed, 66, of 43 Howard Street, Pittsfield, died Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at her home.
Born in Pittsfield on March 10, 1949, the daughter of Charles and Catherine Prescott
Higgins, she was educated in Sheffield schools and was a 1968 graduate of Mount Everett
Regional High School.
Mrs. Reed had been a chambermaid at the Hilton, then Crowne Plaza, Hotel for many
years. For ten years, she was employed at Stop & Shop on Dan Fox Drive. She retired in 2010.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and times
together at Hampton Beach. She was an avid New England sports fan who also enjoyed going to the casinos.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Daniel M. Reed, whom she married February 5, 1972, at Our Lady of the Valley Church.
Mrs. Reed leaves two sons, Joseph M. Reed, of Pittsfield, and Kevin F. Reed and his wife, Theresa Gennari, of Hinsdale; four daughters, Theresa, Kathleen, and Elizabeth Reed and
Jessica A. Kratka and her husband, Jim, all of Pittsfield; two brothers, Frank Higgins and his wife, Linda, and Chuck Higgins both of Sheffield; five sisters, her twin, Alice Lord and her husband, Chuck, of Housatonic, Veronica Shea of Chicopee, Kathy Higgins and Helen Higgins, both of Pittsfield, and Martha Barnum and her husband, Paul, of Craryville, N.Y.; her eight grand-children, Crystal Townsend, Patrick Lorenz, twins, Brendan and Daniel Reed, and Rebecca, Emily, Samantha, and Jacob Kratka. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Rick Reed of Pittsfield, two sisters-in-law, Jane Reed of Lanesborough and Diann Reed of Pittsfield, and many nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Ann B. Reed will be held Tuesday, May 19, at 10:15 a.m. from DERY
FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church celebrated by Rev. James K. Joyce, Pastor. Private burial will be at a later date.
Calling hours will be Monday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moments House in care of
the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
