Obituary for Ann G. Massery

ANN GEORGETTE MASSERY, 76, of 78 Commonwealth Avenue, Pittsfield, died Wednesday afternoon at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, May 5, 1930, the daughter of Albert and Catherine Farah Terek, she graduated from high school and college in Connecticut.

Mrs. Massery was employed as a paraprofessional in the Pittsfield Public Schools for more than twenty-five years, and was a past president of its union, retiring in 1995. Prior to her marriage, she had worked for a law firm in Connecticut.She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and past president of its Rosary Society. She was a member of the Sons of Italy ITAM Lodge 564 and the Daughters of Lebanon. She was very involved with many community activities. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Her husband, Leo E. Massery, whom she married May 28, 1960, died January 17, 1982.Mrs. Massery is survived by two daughters, Lee Ann Massery of Pittsfield and Michele Johnson of Merrimack, New Hampshire; a brother, Michael Terek of Fairfield, Connecticut; and two grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for ANN GEORGETTE MASSERY, who died Wednesday March 7, will be Saturday, March 10, at 8:15 a.m., from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church celebrated by Rev. James K. Joyce, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be today (Friday), from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Massery may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in care of the
Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.

Mrs. Massery is also survived by her son-in-law, Edward Johnson, and two grandchildren, Emily Catherine Johnson and Edward Leo Johnson, and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a brother, George Terek.
