Obituary for Anita Eberwein Manfredo

Anita Manfredo passed away peacefully at home on August 9, 2015 surrounded by her family. Generous to a fault, Anita was known to those close to her as "the woman with no complaints".
Anita was born on July 8, 1928 to John Eberwein of Bleiburg, Austria and Jeanne Vernier Eberwein of N. Adams, MA. She graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1945 and attended Traphagen School of Design in NYC where she studied sewing techniques of the fashion industry. She then worked as a custom dressmaker at Bergdorf-Goodman where she worked on clothes for many famous people.
In 1951, upon completion of the G.E. draftsman training program, Anita worked at Naval Ordnance for four years. During this time she met and married Aldo Manfredo. They lived in Pittsfield and raised four children.
In addition to helping her family in countless ways, Anita enjoyed many hobbies and activities throughout her life including tennis, golf, bridge, knitting and sewing. She played the piano and accordion and was actively involved in her church for many years.
Anita was pre-deceased by her husband Aldo of 52 years, a brother; John Eberwein and sister; Mitzi Scelsi. She is survived by her sisters; Charlotte Sutherland, Jeannine Rontowski, Lucille Eberwein and brother Robert Eberwein, her children; Jeannie McNamara (Michael), Carol Manfredo, John Manfredo (Kim Viner), and Robert Manfredo (Carol Kives), seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
