Obituary for Anita L. Carpenter

ANITA LOUISE CARPENTER, 71, of River Run Apartments, Dalton, died
Wednesday, January 30, at Berkshire Medical Center. Before coming to The Berk-
shires, a year and a half ago, she had lived in Latham, New York. Born in Waterbury, Vermont, November 21, 1936, a daughter of Wayne and
Pearl M. LaCailade Carpenter, she graduated from high school in New York state, and
later attended Berkshire Community College where she graduated with a degree in
nursing. Ms. Carpenter was employed as a social worker for the State of New York and the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts for twenty-five years. She also worked as a private duty nurse.
She was, at one time, a member of St. Charles Church. She was an artist and a writer, and also loved animals. Mrs. Carpenter leaves two sons, Zachary Floyd of Pueblo, Colorado, and Eric S. Floyd of Pittsfield; two daughters, Janice Floyd of Clifton Park, New York, and Jennifer Mayville of Burlington, Vermont; a sister, Virginia Griffin of Schoharie, New York; and thirteen grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by two sons, David Floyd and Dean
Carpenter.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for ANITA LOUISE CARPENTER, who died Wednesday,
January 30, will be Saturday, February 2, at 10:30 a.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME,
with Rev. Msgr. Michael A. Shershanovich, Pastor of St. Joseph Church, officiating.
Burial will be at a later date in Waterbury, Vermont. Calling hours will precede the
service beginning at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Ms.
Carpenter may be made to Hospice Care in The Berkshires in care of the Funeral
Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
