Obituary for Alyce Miller

Alyce Miller, 37 of Dalton, MA passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on March 5th, 2023 after a three year courageous and challenging battle with a rare form of adrenal cancer.

Born in Pittsfield, MA on July 2, 1985, Alyce was the daughter of Arthur Miller III and Christina Bachli Miller. Alyce was a graduate of St Agnes School, Wahconah Regional High School and Berkshire Community College, where she received her degree in Nursing. As a Registered Nurse she was employed at Kimball Farms as a Unit Manager. She then went on to be a Critical Care/Step Down Nurse at Berkshire Medical Center. Alyce loved her job. She was compassionate in caring for all her patients, especially gracefully helping those who were on their journey to the next life. She had hoped throughout her treatment that she would be able to resume working. It was, however, her time to be cared for. Hope was a defining mantra for Alyce. While her illness progressed her idea of hope was redefined, reshaped but was always there. “If you can only carry one thing throughout your entire life, let it be hope. Let it be hope that better things are always ahead.”

Alyce meant a lot to so many people; her big smile, good nature, quirky, laugh out loud, Home Alone movie rerun watching, love of animals, love of full moons, of course Halloween and her reaction to some of life's most funny moments will be missed.

Alyce is survived by her two beautiful girls Sophia 7, Olivia 5, her parents Arthur and Christina Miller of Dalton, sister Kaitlyn Miller of Newton, MA, her brother Nicholas Miller, wife Nazlie and son Altan of New York City along with many aunts, uncles and cousins and her “kittens” Elliot, Charlie and Alice.

Alyce, fly high, we will meet you further on up the road.
