Obituary for Aline D. Deshaies

Mrs. Aline D. Deshaies, 83, of 89 Asci Drive, Pittsfield, died Friday at Berkshire Place in Pittsfield where she had resided since January. Born on September 23, 1923 in Leominster, MA she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Eva Bussiere Tourigny. She was educated in Canadian schools before coming to Pittsfield in 1950. She married her husband, the late Paul E. Deshaies on December 29, 1949. He died on January 4, 1991. She was also predeceased by one brother, Roland Tourigny and five sisters, Georgette Lupien, Lucille LeBlanc, Francois Beuadoin, Gilbeth Nass and Mariette Perusse. Mrs. Deshaies was employed as a seamstress at the former Stratton Coat Factory in Pittsfield for twenty-two years until it's closing in 1974. She was a communicant of St. Francis Church where she was also a member of the Rosary Society. She was also a member of the former Franco-American Club. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She leaves a brother, Roch Tourigny of Norwalk, CT and many nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Aline D. Deshaies, 83, of Pittsfield who died May 11, 2007 will be held Friday at 10:15 AM from the DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Francis Church celebrated by the Rev. Paul Bombardier, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the Dery Funeral Home will be Thursday from 4 to 7 PM. Mrs. Deshaies also leaves many nieces and nephews as well as her longtime friend, Theresa Dugan of Pittsfield. She was also predeceased by one brother, Roland Tourigny and five sisters, Georgette Lupien, Lucille LeBlanc, Francois Beuadoin, Gilbeth Nass and Mariette Perusse. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Francis Church or to the Arthritis Foundation both in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA 01201.
