Obituary for Alice Burchard
Alice Burchard, 84, of Pittsfield, died Monday, April 28, 2014, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on March 24, 1930, the daughter of Bernardino and Rita DeJesus Ramos, she
was educated in Pittsfield schools.
Mrs. Burchard was employed by CVS in Lenox and in Pittsfield. Prior to that, she had been
employed by K-Mart where she worked in the Advertising Department for twenty years.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
Mrs. Burchard loved her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening and animals, and was
an avid collector of angels.
Her husband, Clifford A. Burchard, whom she married June 11, 1955, died September 10,
1987.
Mrs. Burchard is survived by a daughter, Cheryl A. Burchard, of Pittsfield; a son, Gary A. Burchard and his wife, Claudine, of Pittsfield; a brother, Mickey Ramos and his wife, Carol, of
Pittsfield; and three grandchildren, Ryan, Abigail, and Sophia.
She was pre-deceased by two brothers and a sister.
FUNERAL NOTICE:
A graveside service for Alice Burchard will be held Friday, May 2, at 11:00 a.m., at St.
Joseph's Cemetery (Resurrection section) with Rev. James K. Joyce, Pastor of Sacred Heart Church,
officiating. Calling hours will be held Thursday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME in
Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society
or to the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter, both in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street,
Pittsfield.
