Obituary for Alfred J. Jamula

ALFRED JOHN JAMULA, 81, a resident of Melbourne Place for the past year and a half, formerly of 87 Mohegan Street, where he had lived all his life, died Thursday evening at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield, July 7, 1926, the son of Frank and Karolina Wal Jamula, he was a 1944 graduate of Pittsfield High School, and a graduate of the General Electric Apprentice Draftsman course. A World War II veteran, he served in the United States Air Force, stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Mr. Jamula was employed as a draftsman for the General Electric Company from 1946 until his retirement in November 1986. He had also worked for Eaton Paper Company.
He was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a member of the American
Legion. He enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, bowling, and building models.
Mr. Jamula is survived by a brother, Joseph T. Jamula of Lanesborough.

FUNERAL NOTICE:Funeral services for ALFRED JOHN JAMULA, who died Thursday, October
18, will be Tuesday, October 23, at 8:15 a.m., from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a
Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m., at Holy Family Church, celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Michael A. Shershanovich, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Monday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu
of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Jamula may be made to the American
Lung Association in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
Mr. Jamula also leaves many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by four
sisters, Josephine Jamula, Felecia Konopka, Cecilia Jamula, and Statia Ziemak.
